Karlijn Roex is a visiting scholar at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University in the Netherlands. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam. Her research on science practice and 'infodemics' during times of crisis - such as the present COVID-19 crisis (together with Giovanni Colavizza). She is interested in science and technology studies, medical sociology, disaster studies and mass media. In 2018, she received her PhD from the University of Cologne and the Max Planck Institute, and has studied Sociology at the University of Oxford (Masters) and Utrecht (Bachelor).
