University rankings are constantly subjected to critique: there is a continuous debate whether they bring more harm than good. At the same time, data suppliers have changed and expanded in the last years, offering novel research performance indicators and analytical insights.
In the team of the CWTS Leiden Ranking we are currently evaluating how to move forward in order to provide useful tools to support the academic community, HE institutions, and policy makers. To this end we have carried out a series of talks to stakeholders on the present and future of university rankings. In this seminar we will present an overview of these insights. Please join us on this conversation on our complicated relationship with rankings.
